Katherine is a seasoned Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse with over 10 years of experience in the specialized care and management of complex wounds, enterocutaneous fistulas, and ostomies. Currently serving as a Nurse Navigator at Tufts Medical Center , she provides expert clinical care, education, and support to patients both pre- and post-operatively, helping them navigate the complexities of ostomy care and wound management.
Before joining Tufts Medical Center, Katherine worked in the homecare setting caring for wound and ostomy patients. This experience allowed her to gain a unique and valuable perspective on the challenges patients face when transitioning from the hospital setting to home. It also gave her the opportunity to work closely with patients in their daily environments, further enhancing her understanding of how to support and empower individuals living with ostomies and enterocutaneous fistulas as they return to their everyday lives.
Throughout her career, Katherine has demonstrated a commitment to patient-centered care, focusing on education, empowerment, and clinical excellence. She has worked collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care for those managing complex conditions. She also serves as a resource for fellow clinicians, providing guidance on best practices in wound and ostomy care across multiple departments.
