Karen is a board-certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse (CWON) at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston Massachusetts. MGH is 1,000 bed, level one trauma center in Boston Massachusetts and the original and largest clinical education and research facility of Harvard Medical School/University and has the largest hospital-based research program in the United States
Karen has over 40 years of practice as an RN in a variety of care settings including acute care, rehab and home care. Currently she has been working as the Lead stoma Nurse in the Department of Gastrointestinal and Oncologic Surgery for the past 12 years.
The scope of Karen’s practice involves patient and staff education and nursing consultation. Her area of expertise includes the care of patients with complex abdominal wounds, ostomies, fistulas.
