WOC Nurse Practitioner/Consultant
Stephanie Yates holds a Bachelors degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and a Masters degree in Nursing from Duke University. She completed the WOC Nursing Education Program at Emory University. Stephanie completed a Post Masters certificate as an adult nurse practitioner at UNC – Chapel Hill. She practiced for many years in acute care. She also saw patients in home health, long term care and worked in the Duke University wound clinic. She recently retired as Nurse Practitioner, having cared for patients throughout the Duke Cancer Center, in all stages of treatment and survival, with wound, ostomy and continence problems.
Stephanie served as President of the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) from 2019-2021. She has co-authored several journal articles and co-edited the second edition of the WOCN Core Curriculum - Wound Care. She has lectured on wound care and ostomy topics locally, regionally, and nationally.
