Dr. Lilian Chen is the Chief of Colon & Rectal Surgery at Tufts Medical Center and Program Director of the General Surgery Residency. She earned her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School and completed her General Surgery Residency Training at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington, MA. She then stayed at the Lahey to complete her fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery. A skilled surgeon and educator, she has provided outstanding clinical care for patients with colorectal diseases while pioneering efforts in surgical education. Within her role at Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Chen diligently tends to patients grappling with various colorectal diseases, employing a range of surgical techniques including advanced minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and robotics. Consistently recognized for her expertise, she has been annually honored as one of Boston’s Top Docs by Boston Magazine since 2020.
