Jo Catanzaro

Rutgers Univeristy

WOC Clinical Specialist, WOCNEP Co-Director

I have maintained active clinical practice as a CWOCN since 1994 and been involved with WOC nurse education since 1998, first at the LaSalle University WOCNEP, until 2011 and with Rutgers University since 2012. Along the way I served on the WOCN Society Certification Board and the WOCN Society Board of Directors for multiple terms and on various committees. I started my professional career as a critical care nurse, earning my MSN as a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist. Early on in my career I dedicated time to my professional organizations, first the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and later, the WOCN Society. Maintaining board certification was always important, both as a CCRN and as CWOCN. While I can’t say that an overarching plan was used to reach my current career point, the value I placed on constant learning, striving for excellence and sharing my expertise was the guiding force that led me to being on this stage today.
