Description
This session will review the pharmacology of overactive bladder (OAB), including a review of the underlying physiology of normal micturition and the mechanisms of action of anticholinergic, beta-3 adrenergic and intradetrusor botulinum toxin therapies for OAB. We will review safety concerns and considerations when choosing therapies to help optimize outcomes. Special attention will be given to cognitive risks associated with anticholinergic therapy.
