Description
Patients undergoing surgery with construction of a new fecal ostomy continue to face challenges in the perioperative period that can lead to unplanned healthcare utilization and worse quality of life. In this session, Dr. Hollis will review factors influencing post-ostomy patient outcomes, highlight new research findings towards opportunities to improve perioperative ostomy care, and propose a path forward for intervention development.
